From 12 to 15 July 2012, over 500 athletes from seven European countries challenged in six different sports in Duisburg/GER.

This year, the German sports association DJK (catholic federal association for popular and competitive sport) was host of the FICEP Games 2012. Organizer Manfred Castor, DJK-Bundessportwart and president of the FICEP sports commission, and his team offered a great location at the "Sportpark Wedau" and the "Glockenspitzhalle" in Krefeld (gymnastics) in the south of Duisburg.

Over 500 athletes from the catholic sports associations of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Romania and Switzerland competed in different age classes in basketball, fist ball, judo, swimming, table tennis and gymnastics for medals.

The opening ceremony on Friday, 12th of July, took place at the stadium at 8.00 p.m. where representative of the FICEP president Gerhard Hauer welcomed all athletes and thanked DJK president Volker Monnerjahn, Manfred Castor and his team sincerely for organizing this great event.

On Friday and Saturday the competitions made the day with big emotions. The traditional FICEP-mass on Saturday evening was celebrated in the sports hall by bishop Dr. Franz-Josef Overbeck from Essen, together with sport bishop of the catholic bishop conference suffragan bishop Jörg-Michael Peters (Trier) and religious deputy council (stellvertretender Geistlicher Bundesbeirat) of the DJK Dietmar Heeg (Bensheim).
