FICEP’s Value-oriented principles

As a community of believers, people of God in action, the Church tries to throw light on the problems of the world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. It considers sport and physical, artistic and cultural activities to be an opportunity for human spiritual growth. In view of this fundamental consideration, FICEP’s Pastoral Commission has adopted missions and obligations to foster development. It intervenes in the promotion and growth of the humanitarian and Christian training within FICEP and its federations, in collaboration with the other commissions. It does its best, in the context of the sporting events organised for FICEP and the activities of the national federations, to promote the integral growth of sportsmen and sportswomen through our Christian concept of the human being, while guarding against existing dangers and the use of drugs in sport. It creates and draws up a Pastoral Letter to cover associative and sporting activities through an international perspective, taking into consideration the social differences in each country, while bearing in mind the common aim of all Christian people.
